In 2017, real estate app company Zillow saw an opportunity to reach a new audience through an innovative approach to music in their broadcast campaigns.
To serve as the centerpiece for this campaign, we wrote a series of five original songs over a unique three-day “writers camp” hosted in concert with both Zillow and Deutsch agency production arm Steelhead at their Playa Vista recording studios.
Over the course of these three days, musicians worked day and night, interpreting client briefs, reacting to real time edits of the broadcast pieces and in concert with creatives from Steelhead.
The five songs we created were used in their own individual broadcast spots, and began airing on national TV in February 2018. Our goal was to make this music process a hands on experience for our clients, and that is exactly what we accomplished.
