Formerly the Chris Alvy Band, the Super Fuzz is led by former professional ball player Chris Alvy. Having traded in his uniform for a suit jacket, fedora, and sunglasses, the athlete-turned-rocker has a new team of well-dressed mates behind him, featuring Darrell Killingsworth on bass, Todd Taulbee on drums, Ana Valenzuela on keyboards, and Aaron Ben Tov on guitar.
The Super Fuzz tap directly into power pop’s past, namely the sounds of bands like Cheap Trick, the Knack, and Graham Parker. The songs on their debut Art Noise marry crunchy guitars with sugary sweet pop melodies, on tracks that you’ll find yourself replaying on your next Saturday night excursion.
We recently caught up with Chris Alvy and bassist Darrell Killingsworth to chat about the group, who happen to be one of our favorites in the Jingle Player since we signed them last year. Check out the interview over at Jingle Punks MAGAZINE.
